Sweeney Todd, a once mild-mannered barber, returns to London after a 15-year exile ordered by the corrupt Judge Turpin. Finding his wife gone and his daughter under Turpin's guardianship, Sweeney plans his revenge against the man who destroyed his life. He takes up with his former landlady Mrs. Lovett, proprietress of a failing meat pie shop, and sets in motion the grisly events that earn him the title: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
